Upholding the Highest Governance Standards
Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) is committed to observing high standards of corporate governance, to promote corporate transparency and to enhance shareholder value.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore issued a revised Code of Corporate Governance on 6 August 2018 effective for financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2019 (the “Code”).
Rule 710 of the listing manual of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited requires an issuer to describe its corporate governance practices with specific reference to the principles and provisions of the Code. Issuers must comply with the principles of the Code. Where practices vary, adequate reasons should be given and how adopted practices are consistent with the intent of the principle.
This report describes the Company’s corporate governance practices and structures in place during the financial year ended 31 December 2019 (“FY2019”), which are substantially in compliance, with explanations given for deviations from practices of the Code.
For easy reference, the principles of the Code are set out in italics in this report
